i love that they gave us an idea for how long aspects of Rise took to code, i’d be very curious to know the difference in coding time between Rise assets and those in MHW. there are amny factors like both games trying different things like MHW’s more packed maps and Rise’s new mechanics. my main question on this would be, how different is it using the 2 engines between these games as far as coding difficulty for similar things? things like animation skeletons would have to be made from scratch in both engine for example.
the less time you take conceptualizing some things the more time you have to flesh out others, i’m not saying cut corners ina a sloppy way just that if some things require less time with some aspects it’s a good thing so that other stuff that needs more work can work out. it’s why i’d be all for a MH3 remaster, most of the work being reworking underwater combat to be more fluid like the 5th gen, using nostalgia bucks to let them basically do a lower risk second try at underwater combat so that they can have a test run to make sure it will work for future games. i’d be all for it if they say didn’t do a portable game for 6th gen, in the traditional sense, and used that dev time to make this even if it’s the same roster as 3U. i totally believe that they can make this system work, since other games have done underwater movement much better in recent years, and i’d hate for their creativity to be limited thinking they can never do deep sea monsters again.
I want them to bring back underwater fighting
